“Understatement” brings together Zambian artist Bobby East, fellow Zambian musician Frank Ro, and Nigerian singer-songwriter Ric Hassani in a collaboration connecting musical talent from Zambia and Nigeria.
Bobby East has built his reputation through his work in the Zambian music scene, while Frank Ro adds another local voice to the collaboration. Ric Hassani brings a Nigerian musical perspective, creating a cross-country link-up that introduces the three artists to listeners who enjoy contemporary African music.
The title “Understatement” suggests something that is expressed too modestly or does not fully capture the importance of a feeling or situation. It gives the song a distinctive identity while allowing listeners to form their own interpretation through the music.
Released on October 23, 2026, “Understatement” brings together artists from two countries in an Afropop collaboration for fans exploring music from across the African continent.
